Database Project (Wednesday and Thursday Lesson)

Create a database product using MS Access that can be used to solve a unique problem within your immediate environment/community. The task will be done individually but you can consult widely. 

Your database should;

• address unique problems different to those of your IA.
• have at least two related tables.
• at least four queries with some complex calculations applied.
• a well designed switchboard and at least three forms.
• some macros used.
• at least three well designed reports.
• A 2 min screencast of how the product functions should be uploaded

A screencast explaining how the product functions and what techniques were used, will be uploaded on managebac.
Assessment Rubric

Level	Descriptors
1-3	Simple product developed that does not capture effectively the details of some limited requirement for the product listed. The use of database techniques in the software of choice is limited in the development of the product. The product does not solve a specific practical problem. The product fails to function as required. The screen cast fails to show how parts of the product function.
4-5	Good quality product developed that captures effectively some of the details for the database product as listed. Some of the database techniques are used appropriately in the development of the product. The product solves to some extent a practical problem. Product functions as required. The screen cast shows how some parts of the product function.
6-7	Excellent quality product developed that captures effectively most the details of most database product. Most of the techniques in the software of choice are competently and appropriately used in the development of the product. The product solves effectively a practical problem. Most of the section of the product function effectively. The screen cast shows in detail how most of the product functions and how it was designed

Task 3
From the CASE STUDY material and using the ITGS Triangle,
i) List the Technologies/Systems/ Concepts not stated in the case study document but will be essential for our understanding of the case study
ii) List the Social and Ethical issues not explicitly stated in the document but will need to be investigated in the case study document.
iii) List the areas of applications not explicitly stated in the case study document but will be crucial for our investigation.

iv) List the stakeholders / companies/ organizations  not directly stated in the document who are involved in the development, policies, usage, improvement, of the face to face facial recognition system.

Task 4 (Period 2 Task)
Design an A3 poster showing how facial recognition system has developed from its conception to date. (This project will be grade out 12 marks)

The poster should;
i)  Show the developments, key highlights at each stage of the timeline to date
ii) Show the companies or organizations involved in its development.
iii) Use more of a images / diagrams and less of text
iv) The poster should be appealing with appropriate use fonts and background color.
v) The PDF A3 document should be uploaded on managebac.
vi) Using a poster building software is recommended.

                  away clear from the article.
Part 2: Who is the primary stakeholder?
            What is the use of the IT system?
            Which part of IT system is the stakeholder using?
            Can this be supported with extract or  an example from the article?
            This answers "Who", "How" and "Why"

            What  areas of the solution do you have issues with?
            What do you recommend for future development of the solution
