-  Alibaba is a marketing engine that makes money from companies buying upgraded memberships (eg: Gold-level sellers). If you are a buyer on the site, you have  very little protection when orders do not go as planned

- Alibaba still requires use of Alipay and other money transfer services with a less than stellar reputation.
