Information technology is subset of Information system. Information technology can be defined as the study, design, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems and in Information System people and processes designed to create, store, manipulate, distribute and disseminate information. Information technology: refers to computing
Information system: refers to the entire process (including but not limited to technologies and humans) of solving local/global issues

Social impacts: implications of IT to a society/targeted audience
Ethical considerations: moral conduct of an IT system

ITGS project: creating a product to solve an issue with a process report
ITGS EE: research conducted based on my chosen specific interest

Difference between CS and ITGS:
ITGS focuses on impacts of technology on humans; CS focuses on the ‘creating’ technologies to address issues.

IT is the study, desining of computer based technology whereas ITGS is all about impacts on global society by Information technology. ITGS shares methods of critical investigation and analysis with other social sciences.

The difference between ITGS and computer science is :
- ITGS is about how people are affected by systems, what are the issues and ethical dilemmas about it.
- Computer science looks first at the technology and then later at its interaction with those affected by it, it is focusing to the way the technology works, instead of studying the impact.

1. Information systems are products of information technology, This is because information technology is the basis of developing and constructing solutions to everyday issues.

Information Technology - Deals with the systems themselves

Information Systems - People tend to confuse this with information technology its not confined to hardware or software but can be as simple as a pen and paper.

Social/Ethical Impacts -

A)
Information technology is the study or use of systems (especially computers and telecommunications) for storing, retrieving and sending information.

Information systems are relied upon for collecting, processing and providing information, knowledge and digital products. Business firms and other organizations rely on information systems to carry out and manage their operations, interact with suppliers and customers as well aid them to compete in the market.

Social impacts include the effect of an activity on the ethnic composition, wealth, education level, employment rate, health and regional values of a community. - Basically the effects of an IT system on the well being of individuals and communities.

Ethical considerations include an overview and analysis of a idea based upon the values and principles that address questions of what is good or bad in human affairs and decision making processes.

B)
Science is the study of the principles and use of computers.
On the other hand, ITGS is the study and evaluation of the impacts of IT systems on individuals and societies.

2. social impacts are literally anything that has a negative or positive impact in the human life style and society . And ethical considerations are the decisions made on the values and morality when dealing with information communication technology.

b) ITGS is different from computer science because ITGS deals with a lot about how people and civilisation is impacted by its technology and has a very standard understanding about how the computer works however computer science goes very deep into exploring how the computer is designed and how does it function.
